French Horn Rebellion Drop Debut Album, Announce Shows With MGMT, Yelle
Brooklyn-based electro duo French Horn Rebellion, made up of brothers Robert and David Perlick-Molinari, are setting their sights on being one of 2011's breakout acts. With the forthcoming digital and physical releases of their none-too-modestly titled debut, The Infinite Music of French Horn Rebellion, on April 19th and May 24th, and tour dates with MGMT and Yelle, they may get their wish.
The Infinite Music seems like an apt title for an album that details the intergalactic adventures of an unknown French horn player, set to a genre-bending soundtrack of funk, electro, dance and rock.
"There is a story running through the album, it’s about the Universe. We’re pretty clear on what the story is, but what you take away from it may be something entirely different,” says David.
Success has been a long time coming for the brothers. Releasing three EPs and touring and collaborating with the likes of Cut Copy, Sleigh Bells, Hot Chip and Sebastian, French Horn Rebellion have established themselves as electro's act to watch. Along with producing MGMT's Time To Pretend EP, and the duo have also remixed tracks for MEN, Two Door Cinema Club and Alex Winston.
French Horn Rebellion will hit the road in March for a few European dates before returning to the States to play a few dates at SXSW. The duo will then play a few dates in Asia, including a Hong Kong gig with MGMT, before embarking on 27-date as the opening act for Yelle.
