Artist Profile: Black Pistol Fire
Imagine Chris Robinson fronting The Ramones. Or a 21st century version of Creedence Clearwater Revival. That just about describes the garage punk and southern rock style of Black Pistol Fire. The duo, originally based in Toronto before moving to Austin, have definitely soaked up their new environment's musical traditions. "Jezebel Stomp" and "Suffocation Blues," reek of bluesy bar room rock, while "Where You Been Before," starts out as mid-tempo jam before transforming to a thrash-inspired freakout. "Trigger On My Fire" seems to perfectly meld the band's two styles, combining southern fried riffs with a relentless punk rock attack.
