Artist Profile: Poster Child
Big Brother, conspiracy theories and war seem like pretty heavy topics for the realm of electro pop, but Poster Child, a.k.a Enzo Tiano, handles them with aplomb. "Hey little brother/We're watchin' you" he croons on "Watchers," perhaps one of the catchiest stalker anthems since The Police's "Every Breath You Take." "Sinners Of The Holy Land" takes war and senseless violence with the lines "Blood is spilled on sight/From individuals believing they would never die in vain."
While Poster Child's lyrics are chatty, musically the songs are sparse, with stabs of synths and samples that often whoosh in and out before returning to the shadows. Luckily the tracks are supplied with enough drum and bass grooves to keep the tracks from devolving into meandering dirges. Take a listen below:
