In an interview with Rock It Out! Blog, Red Hot Chili Pepper's drummer Chad Smith revealed that the band's new album will be released at the end of August. While there is no official title for the new disc the band is currently sifting through the songs to pick which ones will end up on the album.
On the performance, front the Chili Peppers will be playing Rock In Rio in September and the Summersonic festival in Japan, which takes place August 13-14 in Osaka and Tokyo. There are also rumors the group will do a tour of South America and a November UK gig.
